Tornado Survival Tips

Spring is upon us know, and we all know that can mean bad weather and surprisingly, there are places that are Tornado, now that they saw little or none in the past. Many people in many parts of the country do not even have storm shelters because they are not required in the past. So, I'm using the same information that our meteorologists and gentleman here in the Midwest offer us.

Of course, the best place is to pass a tornado or a storm shelter would be a secure room. OThis option is available and can be a valuable addition to your home to be. Now you can build a storm shelter under the garage, so they do not even outside, to get to a safe place, or you can secure the right concrete built into a cabinet. Attention Contractors on fear or the recent reduction in prey in an area only recently because a large tornado swept houses and shops in your area. Make sure the contractor islicensed, if licensing is required ahead, work in your state were of the same area for a number of years, the purchases have extracted the local (and will be recorded and calls!) never pay. It is not to be taken for a contractor up to half in attack, but this is never more than unusual, and of course the best idea, a building that before the disaster, in the sense that you're more likely to escape the dangers of a fraud and useWorkmanship and materials.

There is also a good idea to supply in these shelters once or twice a year to check, you should at least 3 days of food and water on hand. You never know how long they will be forced to stay at the shelter. You want to have blankets or sleeping bags, plenty of water, some canned food and can opener (things that does not require heating to taste some extent) be aware, some cutlery, paper towels, torches or lanterns (that propaneLights, smoke, and can contribute to carbon monoxide poisoning when used in a ventilated room), new batteries, a battery-operated radio and a pair of first-aid supplies. Stick games (strike of any kind) or a lighter as a light source when they try to orient themselves to be used in the first minutes of a disaster. You have to use a couple of garbage bags for waste and some empty coffee cans, if you did go to the toilet. It could be a good idea to keep aPocket knife and an ax at the shelter. Try to plan for the worst. If you have children, you could use a few games where they for a certain number of days and for children and adults, perhaps a few good books are trapped. When your safety is probably a nesting place for rats and insects, hold more than pest-proof as possible to keep mouse bait and keep a can of insecticide on the hand. Some people keep a bag of emergency by the next flightWay to their shelter open, so you can and go in an emergency.

Some countries also provide a means to register by their storm shelter. Take the time to do it. The reason for this is that some storm shelters, especially if the house or under the house, may be covered by debris. Rescuers need to know where you are looking for accommodation if you are not able to see in the storm, you.

The most common cause of injury and death ina tornado is flying debris. The Fujita Scale, or F-Scale was founded in 1971 as a way to classify tornadoes, assessing the damage and what the wind has been to cause some damage. This scale is still used today:

F0 ? Gale tornado with wind speeds of 40 to 72 mph

F1 ? Moderate Tornado with winds of 73-112 mph

F2 ? Significant Tornado wind speeds 113-157 mph

F3 ? Severe Tornado wind speeds 158 -206 hours miles

F4 ? Devastating Tornado with wind speeds 207-260 mph

F5 ? Incredible tornado wind speeds 261-318 mph

F6 ? Inconceivable tornado wind speeds 319-379 mph

If you do not have a storm shelter, there are a number of precautions you can take. You should always go to the back of the house, at the lowest level of the house, preferably in an area that has no windows, or is the most widely available fromWindows. One of the common bathroom. Health, especially the bathtub are quite heavy and anchored to the ground through their pipes. There are stories of hotels is hit by a tornado, when everything but the sink, the people were hiding among them, clinging to the pipes, anchor the unit has been demolished. Baths are great for jumping into a means of protection. They act as a shield from flying debris, and if you drag a mattress on top ofYes, you have a much better chance of survival than any other part of the house. If you go into a closet, put padding as possible between you, your family and the outside world as possible. Many people have even started the bike, football or motorcycle helmets prevent head injuries catastrophic.

Develop a plan and practice! So how do you practice for a fire, you should practice what to do in the event of a tornado. A familyMeeting and that it is fun. to know the prices for the children, where they go and what to do. Teach your children how to have 911 for each phone in your home, including mobile phone dial, and teaches them to stay on the track. GPS position and our emergency services have evolved to the point in many areas by staying on the phone forces you only know where. But if you have children from the age of 4, teaching them the address and how you sayForces, where they are, for example: My name is (full name) and I live at (address) at home south. My mom or dad is hurt, and we east to have to of help. We are in a storm shelter ( for example). And remind them not to hang up the handset. You will be amazed at a child as much as we remember the weather, and are able to act rationally in an emergency. Then the entire season for bad, regularly ask, you say, "address or say where theStorm shelter, where their situation to be in the forces as the necessary information.

Each person has a job to do. For example, children should take the mattresses off the bed and take them to the closet or bathroom. Younger children should their helmets. Adults give commands, they should follow with the children! To clarify this point! Now is not the time to question or ignore your parents or older siblings. Everyone must remain calm aspossible, but as soon as possible.

Previously it was generally accepted that opens all the windows of the house, but was virtually destroyed. First, you spend a little "too precious time window. This is the time perhaps better spent to ensure you and your family. Second, the window is still a degree of protection between you and the devastating wind outside, and thirdly, when a tornado is about to break windows or using your house since its inception, happen regardless of whether the windows are open or closed, so do not take the time to do so. Instead, you can spend time searching for your phone. There is no guarantee that the cell would have survived near towers, but for the most tornadoes a "way" have the destruction and are usually not more than one variety of millet. The chances are good that you may be able to communicate by telephone.

A little "planning and monitoring, the preparation can go a staylong way toward saving lives in the event of a tornado. Property can always be replaced, but your loved ones do not. We wish everyone a safe spring!
