RIVERVIEW If you'd like to learn how to get out debt forever and secure your financial future, Financial Peace University can show you how.
South Shore United Methodist Church, 21525 Big Bend Road, will host the series of workshops from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sundays from Feb. 10 through April 14. The cost is $99 per household.
Financial Peace University offers a biblically based curriculum that teaches participants how to handle their money through video teaching, class discussions and interactive, small-group activities. The workshops present practical steps for getting rid of debt, planning and budgeting, spending and saving, and more.
Dave Ramsey, a bestselling author and talk show host, founded Financial Peace University in 1992 to counsel folks with financial problems. His organization came from his own personal experience of poor money management, which caused him to lose everything he owned. Now, nearly 21 years later, he has helped countless numbers of folks across the country achieve financial freedom.
Church member Debbie Van Ore, a certified public accountant for PricewaterhouseCoopers, will facilitate the workshops. She said the series is an excellent program for both married and single folks, and she has seen great success for those who have attended in the past.
Connie Bishop is one of them.
